Joanneum Research
»Institut for Robotics & Mechatronics«
The »Joanneum Institute for Robotics and Mechatronics« is one of six Joanneum Research Institutes. It is positioned at the crossroads of fundamental research and applications in the physical world. Its orientation can certainly be described as interdisciplinary: between research areas (control engineering, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, algebra), generations (teachers, students, pupils) as well as between research, industry and smaller companies.
Robotics Key Research Areas
- Collaborative/cognitive robotics
- Robot safety and security
- Inverse cinematics
- Control engineering
- Mechanics
- Mechatronics
- Sensors
- Artificial intelligence
- Adaptive actions
- Human-robot collaboration
- Symbolic algebra
- Applications
The Challenge
Social interaction between robots and humans.
Infrastructure|Laboratory
The laboratory is being built and industrial table-top robots are currently being tested. Even larger industrial robots will be housed in the planned laboratory.
