The company produces wire mesh fences for all markets in which it operates alone or in connection with the parent company in Slovenia. The machinery can produce up to 40,000 linear metres of mesh wire fencing per month in peak season.

The OGK Zäune GmbH company was founded in 2012 and generates annual sales of €600,000 by selling its products and services. The company plans to double sales to €1.2 million with the start of the new production facility. ‘We are the leading producer of fencing systems and offer a complete service package from planning to production and installation. It was with this service offer that we entered the Austrian market in 2012. Our products, which will be produced in Carinthia from now on, guarantee that we will achieve the objectives we have set ourselves. Our optimism is based on the market reactions, the growth in demand and the satisfaction of customers with the service of both the parent company as well as the OGK Zäune GmbH,’ stressed managing director Ms Pečnik Kočevar during the press conference.

‘Especially in challenging economic times, every new company moving to Carinthia is particularly important,’ explains Schaunig at the press conference. ‘The Ograje Kočevar company’s decision to set up shop in Carinthia shows that we are once again a very attractive location for companies,’ says Schaunig.

OGK Zäune decided to expand to Carinthia to be closer to their Austrian clients and be able to guarantee shorter delivery times and therefore better customer service. Since the Industrial Park in Völkermarkt is logistically close to the parent company in Slovenia, Carinthia was also a logical choice.

Ms Pečnik Kočevar thanked the authorities, the municipality of Völkermarkt and the BABEG which were of great help during the whole process: ‘The quick and simple administrative procedures, the support with acquiring the plot and the competent and responsive authorities were all a big help to us.’

The parent company Ograje Kočevar is a family business in the area of fence/gate production that was founded over 12 years ago. It evolved from another company with 35 years‘ experience in the production of electric resistance welding machines. The company is also expanding its business to other EU countries (Austria, Italy, Croatia, France…) and the Balkans. The company achieves an annual dynamic growth of 10% and generates annual sales of €4.4 million by selling products and services. 60 people are employed in the three companies owned by Ms Pečnik Kočevar. Today, the company is the Slovenian leader in fencing and a specialist in standard fencing systems and fences produced in accordance with individual needs or clients‘ project requirements.
